Public Issue Campaigns

Our support helped achieve singular success for the 1999 campaign against revocation of "home rule" status in Rolling Meadows, IL, winning a 93%-7% victory.

In 2002, we provided public relations counsel for the Mount Prospect Public Library’s campaign to win voter approval of an advisory referendum for a major building expansion. It passed with a 58 percent margin, after four previous efforts dating back to 1987 had failed. Our responsibilities included developing a campaign theme, creating brochures, flyers, other publications, securing endorsements from newspapers, local business and government leaders, and news media relations, including many news releases.

As public relations counsel for W.W. Grainger, Inc., we guided strategy for a successful campaign to win public approval of a zoning change needed to locate a new headquarters building in Lake County, IL. Our responsibilities included arranging presentations before community groups and newspaper editorial boards, news media relations, creating brochures, developing news releases and other materials.

In 2004, we worked with the City of Rolling Meadows in a campaign to win voter approval for a tax increase to enhance its 9-1-1 emergency dispatch service. The 9-1-1 referendum won overwhelming approval in an election in which many requests for increased school funding were defeated.

We have also provided professional support to the campaigns of individual candidates for various offices, including the state legislature and school boards.
